Recently, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department (SCSD) hosted a Holiday Celebration for the incarcerated women at the House of Correction, organized by SCSD’s Women’s Program Services.
The event featured a concert by six talented residents, who sang holiday songs celebrating Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and Christmas, spreading joy and festive cheer. Accompanied by Matt Savage, renowned jazz pianist and composer, the performance was enriched by his soulful piano skills.
As the women enjoyed ginger cookies and hot chocolate, the power of music brought everyone together. This unforgettable event showcased the healing power of music and SCSD’s dedication to supporting those in its care.
