Message from the Executive Director

On behalf of the fourteen (14) Sheriffs of the Commonwealth, welcome to the official website of the Massachusetts Sheriffs’ Association (MSA).

Our website is a place to get to know the 14 elected Sheriffs of the Commonwealth who are committed to improving outcomes for all who live and work in county correctional facilities, and to prepare the individuals in their care for a successful re-entry back into their communities.

As you browse through the site, we hope you will take a moment:

to discover the history of the Office of Sheriff;
to explore the innovative programming, services, interventions and community reinvestments happening in each of the individual Sheriff’s Offices;
